LifeStyle MV2 Fitting and Lens Selection Quick Guide

1. Designing your own trial lenses:
   a. If the "K" reading is steeper than 42.50D, select the 8.50mm base curve
   b. If the "K" reading is 42.50D or flatter, 42.50, select the 8.80mm base curve
   (Note: when in doubt, choose the 8.8mm base curve)
   c. For the distance eye, select the MV2 Distance lens with the patient’s distance Rx
   d. For the near eye, select the MV2 Near lens with the patient’s near Rx (same Rx as eye would
   have with monovision)*
   
   
2. Example
   Patient’s Distance Rx: -3.00 OU: Add +2.00
   MV2 Distance lens: -3.00
   MV2 Near lens: -1.00
   
   
3. Allow 20 minutes for lens equilibration
   
   
4. After equilibration, evaluate for fit, comfort, and visual acuity using hand held trial lenses to over-refract while both eyes are open
   
   
5. If necessary, as if you were fitting monovision, reduce disparity between the two eyes as follows:
   a. If distance vision is unsatisfactory, add minus to the near lens
   b. If near vision is unsatisfactory, add plus to the distance lens
   * Typically, initial lens selection for emerging and moderate presbyopes is 0.25D to 0.50D less than spectacle Rx add.
